been a part of the storytelling world since 1974. B.Z.'s
career began in children's library service where she
served for 15 years. A pioneer in tandem telling, she
began to play with the style in 1976. She went on to
create California's first two tandem telling troupes: "The
Moonbeams" and "The Story Tailors." As
her work spread she gathered accolades for innovative
program design, for effective use of storytelling. In
1988 she took a hiatus from performing to care for family,
pursue academic goals and become a "real" teacher.
B.Z. contributed as a Teacher-Leader in Arts Education,
technology and a successful grants writer. In 1992 she
was thrilled to return to the storytellers' stage. In
2005 she retired from teaching to pursue more time for
writing, community arts advocacy and just sheer fun!
In 2010 B.Z. shifted her focus to mentoring young tellers
and helping build a youth coalition in the arts in her
Sierra home. |
